About The Author
Melissa lives in Matthews, North Carolina with her energetic papillon, Buddy Lee. She began cooking and baking as a stress relief while in law school in 1999. Following law school, she began her active duty tour with the Marine Corps in 2002. Melissa deployed to Al Asad, Iraq in September 2005, where the idea for this cookbook was born. In July 2006, Melissa left active duty to explore new career paths. She currently works in Charlotte, North Carolina. She enjoys reading, home improvement projects, baking, playing with Buddy Lee, watching college football and basketball, and doing any outdoor activity!
